Designing a Logo—Step 11: Final color selection

Step 1 of designing a logo was research.

Step 2 was word associations to brainstorm ideas.

Step 3 was thumbnail sketches.

Step 4 was designs in black and white.

Step 5 was designs in black and white feedback and revisions.

Step 6 was designs in black and white feedback and revisions part 2.

Step 7 was a disagreement in direction.

Step 8 was a breakthrough.

Step 9 was getting back on track.

Step 10 was choosing the colors.

The next step was finalizing the colors. There were six rounds of choosing colors, each time taking into consideration multiple people’s input. I relied a lot on this book to find color palettes (no relation to Jim Krause!):
